Description A collection of 14 bound tracts. This is volume 2 of a collection of Tracts - entitled ‘Recueil van de Tractaten.’ This volume includes tracts 26-39. In fact, volumes of the same title have been produced since 1697, and this appears to be the third such collection. This is of particular importance, as it includes the first treaty between the United States and a foreign power. (There were overtures of friendship and recognition from the Prince of Morocco, but this treaty was the first formal arrangement). Also included are treaties with Morocco (1753); the Two Sicilies (1753); both Sicilies (1753); Algeria (1758); Morocco (1777); United States (1783); Great Britain (1783); Great Britain (1784); France (1788) France (1788); Great Britain (1788) Great Britain (1788); Prussia (1788); Prussia (1788). Some of these are different language versions of the same treaty. Partial index to rear. 21cm x 17cm
