Churchtown, Dundrum: The Cuala Press, 1910. First edition. This is the original Irish First / Limited edition by one of Ireland's finest poets. Limited to only 400 copies. Title- page woodcut "Lady Emer and tree" by Elinor Monsell. Bound in original publishers grey paper covered boards, cloth backed, re-cased at some early stage preserving most of original back-strip - this is rather darkened and has a little loss to the head and tail. An ex-library copy with the usual labels to endpapers, perforated stamp and ink stamp to face of title, further perforated stamps to pp.15 and pp. 25. Collation:[8], 32, [2]pp. Errata slip not present. The publisher's statement is printed in capitals in red to the last page of the book. This states "Here end the Green Helmet and Other Poems by William Butler Yeats. Printed and Published by Elizabeth Corbet Yeats at the Cuala Press, Churchtown, Dundrum, in the County of Dublin, Ireland. Finished on the Last Day of September, in the Year Nineteen Hundred and Ten."
This book originally came from a New York Public Library. There is a label to the inside board stating that "This book is now published by Mitchell Kennerley." Kennerley was a British born New York publisher, who managed John Lane in the USA for some time.

Condition: The binding is holding firmly, the original backstrip darkened and with title details and library code in manuscript, some general browning/fingermarking, edges a little rubbed and corners bumped. Textblock holding firmly, contents generally in good condition, a little toned and with some occasional minor spots, creases or marks from handling. There is a closed tear to page 27 / 28 to the top edge. No loss of paper. Library markings as noted above, with residue of various labels to the lower endpapers. Original grey endpapers.
