Paris: Raymond Mazières, 1713. Quatrième édition. Has been rebound with leather spine and buckram boards. There are 45 full page engravings numbered from I to XLVI, the first bearing two numbers - both Figure I and II.
120 x 100 mm (4¾ x 4 inches). 92 pp. Drouet De Maupertuy (or Maupertuis), was 17th / 18th century French ecclesiastical writer. He was ordained a priest after retiring to the abbey of Sept-Fonts. Hence 'Par un Solitaire des Sept-Fonts' in place of his name as author.
Condition: Lightly rubbed to spine. Internally, the end papers are toned has a pencil inscription. The title page has an historic (faint) ink written name. Two small nicks to upper edge of first few pages. The back of Figure I and II has a waterstain, but this does not seem to impact too much on the engraving side. Overall, a very good copy.
