Nightingale: The Story Since 1840.

Tymsder Publishing, 2001. First edition in dust jacket. In the 1820's and '30s the London Jewish community was distressed by the number of destitute Jews living on the streets or in the workhouses. To deal with the problem groups of Jewish East Enders established three charities that later merged and became 'Nightingale'. Marcus Roberts is a researcher in to Anglo-Jewish history, and has been widely published. 112 pp. 250 x 180 mm (9¾ x 7 inches).
