The Chicago Zoological Park - at Brookfield, Illinois
Chicago Zoological Society. Circa 1940. Lovely colour map of the zoo, with such wonderful details as visitors picnicking, elephants bathing, kangaroos boxing, and even someone changing a flat on their car in the car park! Delightful. 405 x 555 mm (16 x 21¾ inches). In the late 1930s, Ralph W. Graham created all manner of works for the city of Chicago. He was also a gifted photographer, and after WWII became Brookfield Zoo's assistant director, and searched worldwide for animals to expand the zoo's collection.
Condition: The map is in a very good clean condition. It has been stored with a fold through the middle. One small tear at the left outer edge. Blank verso.
