Fourth Edition Improv'd. Recent blind stamped soft brown morrocco with border embossed patterns. Gilt titles to the spine. Excellent condition. 11 plates (including frontis). Maps of France, Spain and the Roman Empire. One of the plates is only half present (the other half has been torn away). Another has a significant part missing. A couple of chips to some other plates. Frontis portrait / engraved title, engraved by Mvd. To the recto of this is a contemporary owner's florid signature, now feint. The frontis is half detached, but still holding well. The text block is clean, with just a touch of darkening. Overall a decent copy.
