Poems illustrated by T. Creswick, J.E. Millais, W. Mulready, D. Maclise, Clarkson Stanfield, J.C. Horsley &c.
London: Edward Moxon & Co, 1859. Early edition (seems to be second printing?) of this illustrated edition. Clean and tidy contemporary half leather binding, with lovely marbled boards and gilt titles. A simple, honest Nineteenth Century binding. A touch of rubbing to the edge of the spine only. Matching marbled end papers. All edges gilt. A typically Victorian inscription records that the book was given to "Mother with wishes for her instruction...from her afflicted son..." There is also a small bookseller's blind stamp for S. Drayton & Sons of Exeter. Internally in good condition. Contains the Lady of Shalott, Morte D'Arthur, The Day Dream and many others. There are light foxing spots throughout, but nothing major. xvi, 376 pp. 220 by 160mm (8¾ by 6¼ inches).
