Why Whiffles was called Sissy and Other Tales - A Christmas Manuscript
NA. A beautiful manuscript for Christmas 1936. This is one of several similar manuscripts - that were written under three pseudonyms - The Monkey, The Tweet, and The Mouse (who seems to be Dutch). The manuscripts were obviously sent out as a Christmas gift / message - but there are no clues as to who they are from or who they were for. Each is typed with illustrations on almost every leaf (to recto only). The manuscript has been sewn together, but is without binding. There is a little marking to the cover, but the contents are in excellent condition. The first couple of leaves have been repaired with archival tape, and a repair to the final page. We have created a cardboard cover to protect the manuscript. Mostly written in English, but several of the shorter pieces are in German. A lovely example.
This manuscript contains: Title; dedication; Why "Whiffles" was called "Sissy" (1-5); The Team gets Out of Hand (0-11); No More Room (2); Baldko's Food.
