Two original watercolours of German landscapes (Seeburg and Worms) in a leather folder
NA, 1819. Two charming landscape scenes, depicted in watercolour. One is of a viewing platform with railing and chairs on a river bend with sailing ships. The other a view of a fenced flower bed, two houses and a river bend. White leather holder, with brass details. Initials to a plaque on the front and date on the rear. Brass clasp, with half missing. The white leather is somewhat rubbed. Pencil holder to open edge (no pencil). The two paintings are held under glass by brass frames and edges with black ink. To the verso of the first picture is written "Seeburg" and "Worms". The two images would correspond to the waters of these two towns, so we assume that these are the subjects. Finely executed paintings. Images are 80 mm x 120 mm. The leather holder is 100 mm x 140 mm.
