Sawyer (1876–1931) was a prominent London-based antiquarian bookseller and author, best known for his expertise in rare books and his influential role in the British and international rare book trade during the early 20th century. His firm, Chas. J. Sawyer Ltd., specialised in "anything suitable for a gentleman's library," with particular focus on rare items, early English literature, fine bindings, and sporting and colour-plate books. 235 x 165 mm (9¼ x 6½ inches).
