Original hardback in green percaline with profuse colour and embossed portrait of Richelieu to the front board. The Cardinal's arms blind stamped to the rear panel. Although mainly clean, there is some rubbing with colour loss to the top corner of the front board, and a large area of stain to the top of the rear board (see photos). Small closed tear to the blank front end paper. Internally clean and tidy throughout, with a little darkening to the pages. The binding is holding well, but feels a little loose. Overall though a decent copy. 84 pages. 37cm x 30cm. Maurice Leloir was a prominent French illustrator, watercolorist, draftsman, printmaker, writer, and collector, renowned for his meticulous historicist art and devotion to costume history.

Livre relié d'origine en percaline verte avec des couleurs abondantes et un portrait de Richelieu en relief sur le panneau avant. Les armes du cardinal sont estampées à l'aveugle sur le panneau arrière. Bien qu'en grande partie propre, il y a quelques frottements avec perte de couleur au coin supérieur de la planche avant, et une grande zone de tache au haut de la planche arrière (voir photos). Petite déchirure fermée sur la page de garde vierge. L'intérieur de l'ouvrage est propre et bien rangé, avec un léger assombrissement des pages. La reliure tient bien, mais semble un peu lâche. Dans l'ensemble, il s'agit d'un bon exemplaire. 84 pages. 37cm x 30cm. Maurice Leloir était un illustrateur, aquarelliste, dessinateur, graveur, écrivain et collectionneur français de premier plan, réputé pour son art historiciste méticuleux et son dévouement à l'histoire du costume.
