The title continues "Addressée a un eveque d'Italie; òu on apprend plusieurs anecdotes intéressantes rélativement à cet Arrest, & la découverte d'un ouvrage manuscrit qui interesse l'Eglise & les etats catholiques, fait à Rome par l'ordre d'Innocent XIII. contre la Société des soi-disans Jesuites.." An interesting work, published in French and then repeated in Portuguese. Disbound / never bound up. Cream blank paper covers, with sewn binding. The covers are a little marked. The sheets themselves are clean and tidy, without significant flaws. It seems that these works were not intended to be kept together, and this may be a unique copy. Pagination: [viii], 16., [viii], 14 pages. Collation: a4, b-c4., a-c3. 20cm x 14cm. Conforms to WorldCat / OCLC: 53983075 (French language copy) and also WorldCat / OCLC: 53983113 (Portuguese language copy). Both entries suggest the same two libraries hold copies but that each is separate.. No copies for sale at the time of cataloguing. This Anti-Jesuit polemic played a role in the suppression of the Jesuit order in France in 1764 with King Louis XV dissolving the order. The order was restored in 1814.
