Paris: L. Paul, 1871. First edition. A lovely example of this broadside, mocking the emperor and is former mistress following the defeat at Sedan. After a short spell in prison in Germany, he went into exile in England in March 1871. He died in England in 1873. The lithograph is produced by J. More. 320 by 250mm (12½ by 9¾ inches). In lovely condition. Fractionally darkened, but with no edge wear. Clean to the rear. An excellent copy of this caricature sheet. A copy is held at the library Musée de la ville de Paris. Ref.
