Fully illustrated with 150 b/w drawings. 247 pages. 210 x 160 mm (8¼ x 6¼ inches). The ten articles collected here were originally published in the French newspaper 'Le Journal', when SEM worked as their war correspondent during WW1. SEM's real name was Georges Goursat (1863 - 1934).

Facing most of the lithographs, is the biography, mostly written by Gibson as Jehu Junior, written in a neat manuscript hand. (There is a tipped in plate bearing the owner / compiler's name and signature to the inside front board, but we have been unable to identify them). Victorian Scraps Album
1865. Fabulous decorative gilt and black ruled red cloth album. Comprising 40 leaves with around 600 intricate cut-outs of commemorative cards and images. Many of these are from early Christmas cards and winter themes - mostly English text. Includes some fabulous flowers, birds, butterflies, traditional dress / costumes and caricatures - mostly French text. All beautifully cut out, then thoughtfully and carefully assembled. One or two are dated. Including an advertising postcard (possibly once perfumed) for Rimmel, dated 1865. Therefore, we assume it was created during the period 1860 - 1875. 300 x 250 mm (11¾ x 9¾ inches).

This is a French translation, by J. Martinet, of the memoirs of the notorious public life, and colourful private life, of the late Right Honourable Charles-James Fox.
xiv, 324 pp. Charles-James Fox (1749-1806), was a prominent British statesman whose opinions in favour of the American War of Independence became some of the most radical ever to be aired in the Parliament of his era.
Fox's parliamentary career spanned 38 years of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and he was the arch-rival of William Pitt the Younger.

Vintage Comic Postcard - Old Man on Tricycle with Charabanc full of daytrippers behind
London: Raphael Tuck & Sons, c. 1940. Tuck's Postcard No. 58. In an excellent condition. Shows an elderly gentleman on a country road, slowly riding his tricycle in front a charabanc full of people eager to be on their way either to or from a seaside day out. One is holding a 'Kiss Me Quick' sign, some are shouting to get his attention, one has a horn and others have rattles. He seems oblivious to their eagerness to get past. Simply saying to himself (presumably in response to a vague level of noise) "'Ello! Sounds like they damged old pedals be wantin' another drop of oil". 80 x 135 mm (3¼ x 5¼ inches). One of the 18 examples where the signed lithographs are in two states: on Japon paper and also on Arduenna (this is # 16 of 18). These are loose in gathers, and uncut. With both an original signed sketch on glassine, and a simple pencil drawing. Enclosed in a light blue portfolio, and inside its original slipcase. Unpaginated. 350 x 255 mm (13¾ x 10 inches). Laure Malcles-Masereel was an accomplished illustrator in her own right, previous to becoming Frans Masereel's second wife.
