The dust jacket has some small areas of loss, and is very faded to spine - but the book itself is in a very good state. This work encompasses not only the fine details of technology (directly responsible for the development of glassmaking, particularly from 1880 on), but goes into the metamorphosis of labour relationship, labour costs, factory management, output, price, and even into earnings and dividends paid. The leading part a handful of men in Toledo (Ohio) seem to have played in upscaling production is part of America's industrial history.

Webster states that the majority of the content is new, and has not appeared in print before. There is a contents, and a classified list of items (aimed at teachers). Although an educational book, this is a significant part of the gathering of folk songs and rhymes, which was popular in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Paris: Typographie Armand Jules Klein, 1931. A beautiful copy of this limited signed edition of Fort's poetic tribute to the greatest kings of France. Three quarter dark red leather binding, with red marbled boards. gilt titles and rules. gilt fleuron device to the spine. There is a tiny amount of rubbing to the binding, but still very attractive. Marbled end papers match the boards with a red and gold wash. The front end paper is filled with a lengthy gift inscription to Mademoiselle Raymonde Comte and a poem "Mort des Chevaux Royaux." Signed and initialled by Fort to this page. There is a shadow to parts of this page where a ribbon has been left for a long time (see photographs). The colophon shows that this is one of 200 copies on Arches, which are for named recipients, and with an inscription and, it seems, the same manuscript poem. The colophon is signed and numbered by Fort. Frontis and culs-de-lampe are by Gino Severini. Unpaginated. 285 by 190mm (11¼ by 7½ inches). A lovely copy. First edition.

London: Rivington, 1889. Second (revised edition). Although substantially the same work, Gore addresses the issues raised in two Catholic rebuttals of his original work. Blue cloth boards with gilt titles. 32 page catalogue for Rivington publications to the rear. This book is a defence, in popular form, of Anglicanism, and Anglican Ordinations and Sacraments, against the criticisms of Roman Catholic authorities. The blue boards are mainly clean, with a little fading and rubbing to the spine. A touch of bumping to the head and tail, with very slight fading. The half title has significant foxing to it. There are two pencil inscriptions showing that the book belonged to a convent library. Owner's name to the head of the title page. xviii, [2], 176, 32. pp

Gore (1853-1932) was an influential Oxford theologian. He was ordained a priest in 1878, and was the principal of Pusey House from its foundation until 1893. Under his influence, the Oxford Movement moved towards Modernist lines (a break with the Tractarians). He was also very concerned with social action, and he helped to found the Christian Social Union. In 1901 he became the Bishop of Worcester, in 1911 he succeeded Francis Paget as Bishop of Oxford.
