The ten articles collected here were originally published in the French newspaper 'Le Journal', when SEM worked as their war correspondent during WW1. SEM's real name was Georges Goursat (1863 - 1934). Première édition. A été relié en toile brune, avec titre estampé doré au dos. Papier d'origine du dos, collé à l'intérieur du premier plat. René Groebli is a Swiss post-war photographer who worked as reporter for 'Life', 'Picture Post' and other international magazines. He owned a studio for industrial and advertising photography, and in 1957 the American Color Annual named him 'Master of Color'. Première édition. Signé sur la page correspondante par Karl Rütschi, inventeur de la motopompe à rotor PERFECTA, dont la brochure publicitaire est extraite de certaines images. Although the title states 1928, the colophon dates this to March 1931 and says that the date of 1928 was the Oxford University publication. Barcham Green & Co paper. Top edge gilt - remaining edges rough cut. The dust wrapper is clean, with a little darkening to the spine. A couple of spots, and a tear to the front fold. loss of about 1 inch to the base of the wrapper. Now covered in archival acetate. The boards are clean and tidy, with a touch of darkening to the base of the spine (where the wrapper is missing) only. Overall an excellent copy.

Geo London was the pseudonym of Parisian journalist Georges Samuel. He was a (often unpopular) court reporter for many important trials, even once meeting Al Capone, and wrote many works before his death in 1951. Première édition. Geo London était le pseudonyme du journaliste parisien Georges Samuel. Il était un sténographe judiciaire (souvent impopulaire) pour de nombreux procès importants, rencontrant même une fois Al Capone, et a écrit de nombreux ouvrages avant sa mort en 1951.

Amsterdam: Isaak Tirion en Jacobus Loveringh, 1740. First edition. [Bound with], Verklaring van Mozes vierde boek, genoemd Numeri. Top the rear is a fine map of the journey of the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan by Isaak Tirion. Two volumes bound as one. White leather (doesn't seem to be vellum) embossed design to the front and rear board. titles inked to the spine. small ex libris stampt to the front end paper. The texts are in good clean condition with just a touch of darkening to the paper. Both volumes are 1st editions. Commentary on these two books of the Bible. Each has a half title, and a title page printed in red and black with a vignette illustration. There is also an attractive engraving to the first text page of each volume. A touch of edgewear to the top of the first title.
Johann van den Honert was an 18th-century Dutch theologian who was one of the most important Protestant reformers in the Netherlands. Honert was a supporter of orthodox Calvinism LXVI, 342, [8], 390 + map 260 by 210mm (10¼ by 8¼ inches).

1865. Fabulous decorative gilt and black ruled red cloth album. Comprising 40 leaves with around 600 intricate cut-outs of commemorative cards and images. Many of these are from early Christmas cards and winter themes - mostly English text. Includes some fabulous flowers, birds, butterflies, traditional dress / costumes and caricatures - mostly French text. All beautifully cut out, then thoughtfully and carefully assembled. One or two are dated. Including an advertising postcard (possibly once perfumed) for Rimmel, dated 1865. Therefore, we assume it was created during the period 1860 - 1875. Boards are bumped on corners but otherwise the gilt clean and bright. Endpapers are toned / lightly foxed. Each leaf has a blank verso, but the cuts have transferred their shapes onto the verso preceding. 300 x 250 mm (11¾ x 9¾ inches). Fabuleux album décoratif en toile rouge lignée dorée et noire. Composé de 40 feuilles avec environ 600 découpes complexes de cartes et d'images commémoratives. Beaucoup d'entre eux proviennent des premières cartes de Noël et des thèmes d'hiver - principalement du texte anglais. Comprend des fleurs fabuleuses, des oiseaux, des papillons, des vêtements / costumes traditionnels et des caricatures - principalement du texte en français. Tous magnifiquement découpés, puis soigneusement et soigneusement assemblés. Un ou deux sont datés. Y compris une carte postale publicitaire (peut-être une fois parfumée) pour Rimmel, datée de 1865. Paris: Parsons, Galignani et Compagnie, 1808. Second edition. Bound in quarter red morocco, marbled blue card boards and ornate gilt-stamped titles to spine. Complete with engraved frontis portrait. This is a French translation, by J. Martinet, of the memoirs of the notorious public life, and colourful private life, of the late Right Honourable Charles-James Fox. Spine shows very little sign of wear, and boards are just a little scuffed. Internally, the pages are toned, particularly to the front. Evidence of a small bookplate having been removed from front pastedown.

Charles-James Fox (1749-1806), was a prominent British statesman whose opinions in favour of the American War of Independence became some of the most radical ever to be aired in the Parliament of his era.

Fox's parliamentary career spanned 38 years of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and he was the arch-rival of William Pitt the Younger.

Preuve d'un petit ex-libris ayant été retiré de l'encollage avant.

Charles-James Fox (1749-1806), était un éminent homme d'État britannique dont les opinions en faveur de la guerre d'indépendance américaine sont devenues parmi les plus radicales jamais exprimées au Parlement de son époque.

La carrière parlementaire de Fox a duré 38 ans à la fin du XVIIIe et au début du XIXe siècle, et il était le grand rival de William Pitt le Jeune.
