Cet exemplaire est l'un des 30 exemplaires en rives blanc ou teinté, en quatre volumes, contenant une suite de 147 illustrations lithographiées. La suite de 23 portraits fait l'objet d'un volume séparé, et deux illustrations originales de Masson, à l'encre de Chine et rehaussées de lavis, sont reliées dans le premier volume. Les 12 planches refusées sont également présentées. L'ouvrage est magnifiquement présenté dans une reliure signée Martin-Brés. Chaque volume est revêtu d'un plein cuir brun foncé uniforme, avec des motifs dorés et gaufrés sur les plats et des titres dorés sur les dos. Il y a un peu de frottement sur les bords des dos. A part cela, l'ouvrage est en excellent état, tant à l'intérieur qu'à l'extérieur. Nous ne trouvons pas d'autre exemplaire de cet ouvrage en quatre volumes, avec les illustrations originales. 330 par 260mm.

    Paris: 1923. A lovely hand coloured pochoir taken from the "Album le Nouveau Monde." (Second series) Published in 1923. A group of cynical looking society people. Nice print. The colours are bright. (These pochoirs were printed with some colour and were hand finished). moderate edge wear, with some small closed tears and slight nicking to the edge of the sheet, slight marking otherwise. Clean but with a touch of foxing to the verso. The original album consisted of 38 plates. 510 by 325mm (20 by 12¾ inches). A copy of this print is held in the wonderful Les Musées de la ville de Paris. Inventory: G.37025.

    SEM - Georges Goursat (1863–1934), was a French caricaturist famous during the Belle Époque. As well as the caricatures which made him famous, he created work in a very different style as a correspondent during World War I. His later work was very influenced by the "Jazz Age" and high society in Paris during the 1920's.

Les couleurs sont vives. (Ces pochoirs étaient imprimés avec quelques couleurs et finis à la main). Usure modérée des bords, avec quelques petites déchirures fermées et de légères entailles sur le bord de la feuille, légères marques par ailleurs. Propre mais avec un peu de rousseur au verso. L'album original comprenait 38 planches. 510 par 325mm (20 par 12¾ pouces). Une copie de cette estampe est conservée dans les merveilleux Musées de la ville de Paris. Inventaire : G.37025.
    SEM - Georges Goursat (1863-1934) était un caricaturiste français célèbre à la Belle Époque. Outre les caricatures qui l'ont rendu célèbre, il a créé des œuvres d'un style très différent en tant que correspondant pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Ses œuvres ultérieures ont été très influencées par "l'âge du jazz" et la haute société parisienne des années 1920.
