The dust jacket has some small areas of loss, and is very faded to spine - but the book itself is in a very good state. Now protected in clear Mylar wrap to help preserve the dust jacket. xvii + 398 pages. 245 x 160 mm (9¾ x 6¼ inches).

This work encompasses not only the fine details of technology (directly responsible for the development of glassmaking, particularly from 1880 on), but goes into the metamorphosis of labour relationship, labour costs, factory management, output, price, and even into earnings and dividends paid. The leading part a handful of men in Toledo (Ohio) seem to have played in upscaling production is part of America's industrial history.

Praha: Emmerich Al. Hruska, 1927. First edition, written in Czech language. Batik boards with brown spine and corners. Gilt titles to spine. The boards have a touch of rubbing only. 4 poems and 20 linocuts - 15 of which are coloured, and are numbered, titled and signed by Hruska. The colophon - also signed and numbered, shows that this is 14 of 20 copies. Internally immaculate. A lovely piece of early 20th Century Czech illustration. 230 x 180 mm (9 x 7 inches).

Hruska (1897-1957) Czech painter, writer, editor, playwright, publisher of bibliographies based in Kladno and Prague, also a sometime cabaret actor. Trained under Josef Vachal. Covers a little rubbed, but otherwise in a very good condition. Mick Farren was a British musician, writer, singer, and author who had a long association with the UK underground and counter culture. He led a colourful life; including being interviewed by John Peel, writing for NME, and being associated with the (UK) Hells Angels. 95 pages. 380 x 255 mm (15 x 10 inches) Première édition française. This comprises the advertising leaf with colophon details, a second coy of the gilt decorated title page, one of the illustrated plates and some sample pages. There is also a brief life of Kháyyám, before the numbered colophon containing Dulac's signature. Then the title proper. Total limitation of 215 copies - this is #31 / 215 on superior Navarre-Voiron paper, signed by both Chaumel and Urbain-Faurec. Held in the original raffia covered folder with cloth spine and label. This is in excellent condition, with some fading to the gilt titles on the label. Some splitting to the cloth on the rear spine of the folder. Inside, the book is presented loose in sheets with a blank cover. Very nice condition with just a little handling. Each of the engraved plates is a good, deep impression with a loose tissue guard. Unpaginated. 340 by 260mm (13½ by 10¼ inches). Les Contes de Madagascar superbement illustrés par les eaux-fortes d'Urbain-Faurec.

La toile du dos de la chemise est un peu fendue. A l'intérieur, le livre est présenté en feuilles détachées avec une couverture vierge. Très bel état avec juste un peu de manipulation. Moderate darkening to the spine and there is splitting, cracking and chipping to the spine. Bookplate of Henry, Thomas Ellacombe (vicar and antiquarian) to the inside board. Small stamp shows that this volume belonged to the Assay office of Birmingham. Opposite the title page, an albumen photograph (circa 1870) of a lady stood by an iron gate has been tipped in. 40 lithograph plates tipped in. 127, [ii] pp. 255 x 195 mm (10 x 7¾ inches). Première édition. Tissu rouge d'origine, décoré de dorure pour simuler la serrure et les charnières d'une porte. Antipodes: 1900. - Two albumen prints - mounted on the recto and verso of an oblong of grey card. One side showing The Gap and South Head at Watsons Bay in the eastern suburbs of Sydney, Australia (circa 1903); and on the other side a view of the town of Hobart, Tasmania (from Lansdowne Crescent) taken by John Watt Beattie.
- Two collodion paper prints showing the harbour of Lyttelton, New Zealand by an unknown photographer, and a landscape view across the Bealey near Christchurch, New Zealand taken by E. Wheeler & Son - these also mounted on the recto and verso of an oblong of grey card.
- One unmounted collodion paper print is of the Waimangu Geyser, which is located near Rotorua, New Zealand. This says JM2070 on the front - and possibly refers to the James Ingram McDonald (the painter, photographer, filmmaker, museum director, cultural ambassador, film censor, and promoter of Maori arts and crafts) and may have been taken whilst he was employed by the New Zealand Government Tourist Department in the early 20th Century. The geyser was known to erupt on a cycle of around 36 hours and would reach heights of up to 450 metres. Written on the verso of the photograph it reads: "The column of steam is about 1200 feet high". This geyser stopped erupting in 1904.
