Title page and 50 illustrated leaves, with picture and text to the recto only. The pictures, which have a verse in German below each, each show a scantily clad woman in the Belle Epoque style.     London: Henry Graves & Co, 1907. Printed by A. Salmon of Paris. The "The Cries of London" has been a recurring theme in English print making for over three centuries. The series of thirteen paintings by Wheatley were amongst the most popular. Originally published as print 10 in the series, St Paul's can be been in the background. Engraved by Thomas G. Appleton. Signed in pencil by Appleton to the bottom right. The impressed area is 450 x 360 mm (17¾ x 14¼ inches).

    Condition: Overall this is in lovely condition. The image is clean and bright. There is a touch of light foxing to the cream paper surrounding the print (but not the print itself).

Consists of ten songs and six dances artfully arranged and illustrated with Robertson's original watercolour drawings and hand lettered text and music. Photoengraved and screen printed in facsimile by Edmund Evans.
    Pictorial boards shows signs of rubbing, scrapes and chips, with rough spine ends. Small neat previous owner's name to front. Some minor foxing to several pages. The songs and illustrations are all bright and clean. Walford Graham Robertson (1866 - 1948) was best known as an accomplished author and illustrator, and as a prominent member of London Society. 400 x 290 mm (15¾ x 11½ inches).

    A collection of nursery rhymes and folk songs of the Sinhalese people of Sri Lanka - known at the time as Ceylon. In the foreword, by Sir Solomon Dias Bandaranaike, he writes "In terms of pure decorative art Heather Hamer is spiritually in the direct line of descent from Aubrey Beardsley, and the application of her gift to Sinhalese subjects is a happy piece of good fortune for us." In her preface, Hamer states that most of the rhymes in the book were taken from an old volume of 'The Taprobanian' (1887), or gathered from local people, having been passed down over many generations.

    Peter Grahame (1836 - 1921) was a Scottish artist who trained at the Trustees' Academy in Edinburgh under Robert Scott Lauder. His landscapes were influenced by the paintings of Horatio McCulloch, and the poetry of Sir Walter Scott. He enjoyed great success at the Royal Scottish Academy, and at the Royal Academy, London.

Babaghuri designer Jurgen Lehl has created this photo book of colour images taken on Ishigaki Island in Japan's Okinawa Prefecture. Most are flip-flops or parts of them in various stages of degradation. Edited and designed by Hideaki Matsuura. The book is in a fine condition. 210 x 150 mm (8¼ x 6 inches).

    San Francisco: Chronicle Books, 1997. First Steidl edition. Softback. French wraps. Between 1993 and 1996 Joel Sternfeld photographed 50 infamous crime sites around the US. Containing images of these unsettlingly normal places, ordinary landscapes left behind after tragedies, their hidden stories disturbingly invisible. Each photograph is accompanied by a text describing the crime that took place at the location. 255 x 275 mm (10 x 10¾ inches). Back cover has some rubbing, otherwise a very good copy of a fascinating book. Joel Sternfeld is an American fine-art colour photographer. He is noted for his large-format documentary pictures of the United States and helping establish colour photography as a respected artistic medium. Sternfeld's work is held in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Mori studied fashion design in Tokyo, worked briefly as a model and later studied fine art in England. This is a record of the work shown at exhibitions at Groninger Museum in The Netherlands, and Aarhus kunstmuseum in Denmark. It includes the complete 'Beginning of the End: Past, Present, Future', a photographic cycle produced over a period of 11 years, in which Mori presents herself as a time traveller in a plexiglass capsule at significant symbolic locations, from Giza to New York to Shanghai. A large print, believed to be from the large paper copy of the Beschryvinge van Amsterdam, Commelin's seminal work. Good clean impression on clean heavy laid paper. The paper holds a watermark of three crescent moons. This is often seen in Islamic printing, and was probably from Italian paper stock of the mid to late eighteenth century. Image size 26cm x 34cm. Sheet size 43cm x 50.5cm. A lovely uncoloured example of this engraving. First Edition

Bonne impression propre sur un papier vergé épais et propre. Le papier contient un filigrane de trois croissants de lune. Ce type de filigrane est fréquent dans l'imprimerie islamique et provient probablement d'un papier italien du milieu ou de la fin du dix-huitième siècle. Taille de l'image 26cm x 34cm. Taille de la feuille 43cm x 50.5cm. Un bel exemple non coloré de cette gravure.
