Gottingen: Steidl, 2012. Second edition of the hardback photobook by Eggleston. 209 pages of black and white photographs, taken by Eggleston in the 1960's and 1970's. The images are taken from his original negatives. As Hickey writes, about these photographs taken in the Southern USA "Eggleston portrays the site of our youth undisguised by design or nostalgia." Bright yellow covers, with red and black text and a black and white image inlaid to the front board. In excellent condition, with just a slight bumping to one corner. Fascinating images of Belgium's early 20th century architecture - from sketches by Luigi Kasimir; often referred to as The Master European Printmaker. Illustrated with frontispiece, 29 full-page plates, and some in-text illustrations. German text by Fedor von Zobeltitz. All full-page plates have captioned tissue guards. Cities: Brussels, Antwerp, Bruges, Ghent, Louvain and Mechelen. Pictorial boards are somewhat age toned and bumped at the edges. The ribbon ties are still attached, but front ones are broken. Lacks slipcase. Inside excellent. 39, [1] + 29 plates. 340 x 260 mm (13½ x 10¼ inches).

Gent: Drukkery van I.S. Van Doosselaere, 1861. First edition. Half leather with mottled hardback boards. 206 pages. With frontispiece, woodcuts in text, and a fold-out map to the rear. Map has a closed tear but is complete. Boards are rubbed. Inside has two institutional ex libris stamps; one to frontispiece, the other to title page. 185 x 125 mm (7¼ x 5 inches).

Munchen / Munich: Friedr. Bruckmann's Verlag, 1890. A scarce collection of albumen photographs of the Magic Flute in the loggia of the Imperial and Royal Opera House in Vienna. C1890. held in a folding cover. Cover is ornately decorated to the front and blind embossed to the rear. Clean and tidy with fractional darkening. Inside, the flaps are a pale grey and also blind stamped. Slight marking where a paper clip (now gone) has been holding something. Inside are a title and 12 cards. The title has the the list of photographs to the rear. Albumen photographs are pasted onto the card, printed to recto only. All in excellent condition with just a slight darkening and few minor marks to the title card.

Decorated title page, frontispiece, and page decorations. Titles printed in red. Printed in an edition of only forty-five copies. The type is Walbaum, machine-set by Michael & Winifred Bixler. Decorations and binding by Coriander Reisbord; typography and printing by Asa Peavy. With compliment slip from Coriander Reisbord loose inside. Boards and pages water stained to bottom third, hence low price. Boards and 21 pages. 235 x 185 mm (9¼ x 7¼ inches).

London: R. Ackermann's Repository, 1808. Plate number 9 from Ackermann's "Microcosm of London". A lovely aquatint. The architectural details were drawn by Pugin, and Rowlandson drew the figures (both are credited on the sheet). The aquatinting was done by J. Bluck. Ackermann produced this work between 1807 and 1810. One of the greatest of the colour plate books. "The plates by Rowlandson and Pugin present an unrivaled picture of London in early 19th century, of historic value, as many of the buildings no longer exist." (Tooley).

Utrecht: Self published, 1989. With hand cut and tipped-in original photographs. 320 x 310 mm (12½ x 12¼ inches). Text in English and illustrations by Titi (Tineke) Zaadnoordijk. Titi is a poet, performer and visual artist. Her work is always figurative, and humour is always woven through it.

Amsterdam: NV Magazijn De Bijenkorf, 1928. Attractive Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) design. 160 x 50 mm (6¼ x 2 inches). The letters SPG stand for Simon Philip Goudsmit, the founder of the Dutch department store chain 'De Bijenkorf' (The Beehive). Nicolaas Johannes van de Vecht was a Dutch watercolorist, draftsman and lithographer. He was a student at the Arts and Crafts School Quellinus Amsterdam and the State School for Arts and Crafts Amsterdam. In addition to watercolor painting, drawing and lithography, he was a book binding designer.

Uitgeverij Fragment: Den Haag: 1993. Grey cloth with embossed titles, and a photograph laid onto the front cover. Original photograph loosely inserted. The photo-book Published in collaboration with Tel Design, Koninklijke Drukkerij GJ Thieme Nijmegen and Kadee Delft. 24 black and white photographs printed on glossy photo paper. To the rear of each are the details about the subject, the scene and those who participated. A fascinating concept in photography. A complex scene is set up - and the central subject is blind folded and brought into the scene. The blindfold is then briefly removed - and the photograph taken. They are then apparently blind folded again, and only see what was really there when the photograph is produced.

Leiden: D. Noothoven van Goor, 1862. Scarce. First edition. Hardback children's story book based on tales of hunting wildlife. Complete with all 14 hand coloured lithographic plates, with tissue guards. Text in Dutch. Boards are light brown buckram with an embossed design and gilt embellishments. [112] pp. Archival tape repair / reinforcement to the first gather. 190 x 125 mm (7½ x 5 inches).

Sir Frank William Brangwyn (1867 - 1956) was an Anglo-Welsh painter, engraver and illustrator. Although born in Belgium, his family returned to Wales in 1875 where he received his artistic education, first with his father and then with renowned artist William Morris. Brangwyn's relationship with one of his admirers and supporters, the Belgian poet Emile Verhaeren, led to his being commissioned to create multiple illustrations for Verhaeren's poetry book, Les Villes Tentaculaires.
