After some time producing lithographic reproductions of art works, he also opened a photographic studio in Munich in 1853. Although this image is undated, it is around 1860. He produced a well known series of photographs of eminent citizens.

Impressed by this, the company commissioned Hans G. Kresse (one of Toonder's team of workers) to create the advertising for them. This poster was the result. It was not used for long, and a smaller size was created from the 1950's. 46cm x 31cm visible area under passe partout and frame of 61cm by 43cm (The actual poster has part of the blank area hidden behind the passe partout and is approx 57cm x 36cm).

Buffet was commissioned to create original designs for the records, and music was sung by Ella Fitzgerald, with an orchestra conducted by Nelson Riddle. This copy is the second edition / Polydor Re-issue from 1982. The records and lithographs have been replicated from the original verve publication. (There was a text book that accompanied the original issue - this was not part of this Polydor re-issue). Complete and as issued. Engraved portrait of a Pope in Sanguine

Paris: Chez Bennet, 1790. A lovely example of a sanguine engraving by Bennet, after an original design of Joseph Marie Vien. Undated, but states that Vien is a professor under the protection of the King. He held the role of "Premier peintre du Roi" from 1789-1791. Good, clean condition, with a little darkening and creasing to the edges only. Slight edgewear. It is printed No. 81 to the top left. .
