Catalogue des Livres Rares et Precieux Manuscrits et Imprimes provenant de la Bibliotheque de Feu M. Benzon

Paris: Librairie Bachelin-Deflorenne, 1875. First Edition, with contemporary annotations showing prices achieved.
A paper label shows that this copy was for Monsieur Pavet, and that he was to received a volume bound in half red leather and with papier Agathe (which this copy is). The majority of the catalogues were softback, so Monsieur Pavet must have been a valued customer.
American citizen, the owner of this collection, Mr. Benzon, ran the house of Naylor, Benzon & Cie in London. He died two years before his library went on sale. Red half calf with gilt titles. Brown marbled boards. A little rubbing and dulling to the spine and edges, with a touch of loss to the corners of the boards. Internally in very good condition, with a little darkening and a few scattered marks only. viii, 104. pp. 245 x 170 mm.
