Map of Brussels has one small tear to upper section (shown in photographs). Overall in good condition. With the bookplate of Robert Washington Oates (1874-1958), who was born in London but partly educated in Belgium. He served in the First World War as a private soldier, whilst simultaneously making a substantial fortune through his financial interest in a firm of industrial chemists. After the WW1 ended he became an antique dealer, and gained an international reputation in the antiquarian book trade. Text in English. 148 pages + tables and adverts. 170 x 115 mm (6¾ x 4½ inches).

San Francisco: Alan Wofsy Fine Arts, 1991. Two volumes. Hardback in dust wrapper. The front of the wrapper of Volume 1 has been sliced in half (quite neatly!) now held in removable plastic. Apart from this flaw, the wrappers are clean and tidy. Books are bound in burgundy laminated cloth. The front of Volume 1 has a thin scratch (corresponding to the wrapper damage).
Volume 1 - contains the World, Europe and Africa. 347 works are catalogued, with 44 plates and illustrations.
