Attractive, clean engraving, with a crease / fold to the middle of the plate, otherwise in excellent condition. Nice clean engraving. No significant damage. Engraved area is 25cm x 34cm. Sheet is 43cm x 51cm. This is also a lovely example of children's games in the early 18th Century, with at least six different games being pictured. A lovely print. This is an original engraving from 1726, not a reproduction

He's now no longer working a loom, but rather keeping his master's business: He holds the "Day Book", keys to the house and a pouch of money. A mid Victorian print. Beautiful colouring. Off white mounting board with lines around. Now in protective cellophane cover. Overall, this print is in lovely clean condition. A touch of darkening only. The only flaw is a little white discolouring to the top edge. Engraving 6" x 71/4" Mount 11" x 121/2"

    P. Fouquet Jnr, 1760. Copper engraved etching of old Amsterdam. The Jan Roodenpoortstoren was a building on the corner of Singel and Torensteeg in the centre of Amsterdam. Sadly, the tower was demolished in 1829 due to its neglected state. Image size: 255 x 330 mm (10 x 13 inches). Total item size: 440 x 360 mm.

    In a very good condition. On heavy watermarked paper. Sold without frame. Nice deep impression, with small rust mark to bottom (not effecting the image). Top of item has been cut quite close (possible to limit a tear). Slight water stain to bottom right (again not effecting the image). A few small closed tears to very edges.

These are the frontispiece and ten engravings by Regnault from the 1796 edition of Montesquieu's Temple de Gnide. The engravings were etched by Bertaux and finished by De Ghendt, Patas, Halbou, Baquoy, Lingée, Ponce and Le Barbier. Each etching measures 11 cm x 7 cm and is mounted on a 24 cm x 16 cm card. The portfolio measures 27 cm x 17 cm. The plates are in excellent condition, with just a little handling and only a few small spots of foxing. The backing card is in good…

    Leaden Hall Market a plate from the "Microcosm of London"

    London: R. Ackermann's Repository, 1809. Plate number 50 from Ackermann's "Microcosm of London". A lovely aquatint. The architectural details were drawn by Pugin, and Rowlandson drew the figures. (both are credited on the sheet). The aquatinting was done by J.C. Sadler. Glazed and framed in a black and gilt frame. Total size: 405 x 345 mm (16 x 13½ inches). Ackermann produced this work between 1807 and 1810. One of the greatest of the colour plate books. "The plates by Rowlandson and Pugin present an unrivalled picture of London in early 19th century, of historic value, as many of the buildings no longer exist" (Tooley).

    Condition: Very nice clean impression of this plate, with good colouring. The frame is sound, but with a little rubbing to the edges. Can be removed from the glazed frame and sent as a print in mount if desired.

Gravure propre et soignée sur papier légèrement assombri, posée sur un support épais. Quelques marques seulement. Détails d'impression à la base de la gravure. Le papier de soutien a un peu de plis et de noircissement sur les bords. Identifiée, nommée et datée à partir d'exemplaires identiques conservés au Philadelphia Museum of Art. Johann Christian Leopold (1699-1755) Éditeur de gravures basé à Augsbourg ; fils de Joseph Friedrich Leopold (q.v.) ; a publié des mezzotintes d'après Piazzetta ; jusqu'en 1760 au plus tôt. Son fils Johann Christian Leopold le Jeune (1729-1779) poursuivit son activité sous le même nom. Ferdinand Landerer (1730 Stein unter der Enns - 1795 Vienne) Graveur. Martin Johann Schmidt (Grafenworth, 1718 - Stein an der Donau 1801) Peintre baroque autrichien. Il s'agit d'une gravure ancienne originale de 1760, et non d'une reproduction.

    Minamoto no Yoritomo (1147-1199) from 'Mirror of brave military guards in Kamakura' (Kamakura Buei Yoshi Kagami)

    Edo: Fujiokaya Keijiro, 1844. Original woodblock print on mulberry paper. This is the centre panel from the colour woodblock triptych entitled 'Kamakura Buei Yoshi Kagami'. Minamoto no Yoritomo was the founder and the first shogun of the Kamakura shogunate of Japan, ruling from 1192 until 1199. There was a film made in 1945 about his relationship with his brothers entitled Tora no O o Fumu Otokotachi: The Men Who Tread on the Tiger's Tail. In this print he is actually depicted with his famous tiger's tail! The other panels are not with this. It has rough edges and is delicate, with signs of reinforcement on the verso. 360 x 240 mm (14¼ x 9½ inches).
