Inside are 12 anonymous photographs of Paris. Nice clean silver gelatin original photographs. Each 210 x 270 mm (8¼ x 10¾ inches). No information about photographer or photo studio. Reverse is blank. Some of these views have been named and numbered in the plate, so it would seem that the purchaser could choose their 12 favourites from a selection.     Condition: Cloth boards are a little stained and darkened, particularly to the front cover. Still attractive though. Moderate foxing to the first few. The rest the book is in very good condition with only light foxing.

The first is an abstract of "A Northern Summer; Or, Travels round the Baltic, through Denmark, Sweden, Russia, Prussia, and part of Germany in the year 1804" 80, [ii]. pp. Includes index, Sepia aquatint of Cronberg Castle, and a lovely large folding sepia Aquatint of St Petersburg.
    The second work is "A Tour through Holland, along the right and left banks of the Rhine, to the South of Germany in the Summer and Autumn of 1806." 167 [ii]. pp including index. Includes 6 folding sepia aquatint illustrations, or Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam (x2) Utrecht, and Koblenz.
    Each work has a paragraph of introduction, and then an abstract or digest of the work itself. 240 by 150mm (9½ by 6 inches).

    Condition: Recent half calf binding, with hardcover boards. burgundy label to spine. New end papers. The text itself is clean and tidy, in excellent condition.

Gordon`s film k.364 documents two Israeli musicians of Polish descent (Avri Levitan and Roi Shiloah) traveling from Berlin to Poland by train. Shown on two screens and with layered sound, the film follows the two men through a desolate landscape in a country whose tragic and violent history is barely resolved for them. Gordon films the musicians on this personal journey, isolating intimate moments at which their passionate love of music seems to move between them. The publication features stills from the film and installation photography from the gallery as well as reproductions of ephemera from the journey" such as a rail map, filming authorization letter, and photographs of an intimate dinner"all bound with a metal spiral binding with stiff card photographic boards, and housed in a yellow card slipcase. It also includes an interview with Gordon by Michael Berkeley and an interview with Levitan and Shiloah by Gordon. The book itself is in excellent condition.     London: J. Cary, 1793. An engraved map of Kent, hand coloured in outline. The detail from Cary's atlas for Kent is visible and legible to the verso. Framed in a simple pale green mounting board. Protected by acid free plastic. John Cary worked from London as a mapmaker, engraver and publisher, towards the last quarter of the 18th century up to around 1830. His "New and Correct English Atlas", first published around 1776, was a benchmark in British topography. He used Copper plates for all his work, despite steel engraving becoming more common at this stage.

    Condition: Very nice clean condition. There is fractional foxing to the edge of the written page (verso) the map itself is clean and tidy with the merest hint of darkening. A couple of tiny marks not affecting detail.

Previous owner's bookplate to the inside front board. Engraved title with vignette, text, 106 engravings and folding map. There is a little rubbing to the edges of the spine and boards with slight scuffing to the bottom edge. A little darkening to the page edges, but overall a very nice copy. 290 x 220 mm (11½ x 8¾ inches). Deux tomes. Première édition. Demi veau à plats marbrés. Titres et ornements dorés au dos. Feuilles de garde marbrées. Ex-libris du propriétaire précédent sur le panneau avant intérieur. Titre gravé avec vignette, texte, 106 gravures et carte dépliante. Il y a un petit frottement sur les bords du dos et des plats avec de légères éraflures sur le bord inférieur. Un peu de noirceur sur les bords de la page, mais dans l'ensemble un très bel exemplaire. 290 x220 mm.

This is example #49/100 copies on Van Gelder paper. Ten beautiful etched plates. Each numbered and signed by Mayeur. Softback, with cream covers. Glassine cover which is somewhat darkened. There is a small nick to glassine only to the spine. Small label to spine with copy number written. Also included is a card from Mayeur, with a handwritten note on it wishing the recipient best Christmas wishes for 1931. The plates are in perfect condition. Loose in gathers as issued. Held in what appears to be the original slipcase.…

Une carte de Mayeur est également incluse, avec une note manuscrite dessus souhaitant au destinataire les meilleurs vœux de Noël pour 1931. Les assiettes sont en parfait état. Lâche dans les fronces comme émis. Tenu dans ce qui semble être l'étui d'origine. En très bon état, toiles bleues et côtés marbres, avec juste quelques frottements. 395 x 395 mm
