Overall an excellent example of this rare photograph. Franz Seraph Hanfstaengl (1804–1877) was a Bavarian painter, lithographer, and photographer. After some time producing lithographic reproductions of art works, he also opened a photographic studio in Munich in 1853. Although this image is undated, it is around 1860. He produced a well known series of photographs of eminent citizens.
