There is an additional leaf added to the book, which has been printed in red and black letterpress, dated November 1859 and stating that this book is a gift to Amelia on her 21st birthday from her brother Bynon. Frontis portrait of Montgomery and over 100 engraved illustrations. The binding is in good, clean condition, with a little rubbing to the front hinge only. This publication was limited to fifty on Velin and ten on other paper. This is one of the copies on "other paper," more of a glossy Japon. The limitation states that all of the copies were for friends of De Laborderie and Mercier and that none were for sale. This copy is not signed or numbered, and is out of series. The book bears the bookplate of André Bruel, a poet, editor and publisher who lived in Angers. Dark blue leather binding and matching blue boards with gilt detail. Art deco style titles in gilt to the spine. The spine has faded to a dark grey and has a touch of rubbing, but still an attractive binding. Marbled end papers. Dark blue / grey soft covers with a pale blue embossed design are bound in. Internally in very good condition. Illustrations throughout by Jacques Mercier. An attractive copy. Unpaginated. A beautiful limited edition bilingual copy of Keat's poem, with illustrations in black and red by Bellery-Desfontaines, engraved by Florian, Froment and Ferrichon. The colophon to the rear, states that the limitation was 175 copies plus 60 presentation copies (giving a total printed of 235). The eleven compositions by Bellery-Desfontaines are also reproduced on fine paper (presumably one of the twenty on China paper). These are each placed next to the relevant composition in the book, and are signed by the artists involved. The limitation to the front (No 93) is signed by Édouard Pelletan. "In Shakespeare's land, these decorated pages are offered by a Parisian publisher on the occasion of the Anglo-French exhibition in London." In recent three quarter buckram with marbled boards black leather label to the spine with gilt titles. Binding in excellent state. The work is beautiful, with light to moderate foxing to pages only. A rare piece. There is only one other copy (with an incomplete set) of the suite currently on the market. Unpaginated. 26.5cm x 20cm.

The boards are somewhat darkened, with bumping to the edges. Internally, the book is in good condition, with a touch of darkening only, and a little marking to the first couple of pages. viii, 104 pages. The first 12 pages are the poem in Latin. The rest of the book is notes and commentary / translation of it. An unusual gastronomy book. A glossary in French, English and Latin is given at the beginning of the work. This has been repaired to the top corner of both pages (not affecting text). 250 by 200mm (9¾ by 7¾ inches).

Pale blue / grey paper covers; a little worn / darkened, and the paper has split to the spine (has had archival tape at some point). Title page is the first page, and this has the remnant of the cover edge, where it has been stuck. Otherwise clean and tidy throughout, with a little darkening and foxing. Full of charming biographies of French poets. For example, Bernis begins "What a shame for the people of France that this charming poet abandoned it so early." Includes a surprising number of biographies of women.

Jacques LABLÉE. Lawyer; man of letters and journalist; printer and bookseller. - Born in Beaugency (Loiret), he moved to Paris in 1780. A lawyer in Paris in 1789, he was appointed president of the Luxembourg section in 1790 and became editor of the "Journal des réclamations". Printed J.-L. Soulavie's "Suite des Mémoires du maréchal duc de Richelieu" at 7 rue (de) Condé in Paris, under the name "Imprimerie de la collection des Mémoires du règne de Louis XV". Launches in 1792 "Le Fanal parisien, a newspaper necessary to citizens who wish to enlighten themselves about their true interests...". Appointed before Sept. 1793 as general administrator of military supplies, he was imprisoned for six months under the Terror. Until 1810, he was public prosecutor for the Loiret region. Author of numerous literary, historical and political works, he notably wrote "Guillaume le Conquérant, ou la Descente en Angleterre, romance historique" in 1814. Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur on August 17, 1814. Wrote and published in 1823 "Relation de ce qui s'est passé au palais du Luxembourg, deux mois avant le départ de Monsieur". Died in Paris in March 1841 (Fron BnF).
