    Ubud, Bali: NP, C1990. An attractive water colour in the Balinese style by the artist Doni. (We cannot identify who this is). A delicate water colour painting featuring two small birds, a butterfly, and several pink flowers with large, triangular leaves. It exemplifies the detailed, nature-inspired style for which Ubud is famous. Mounted under a green gilt edged passe partout in a gilt frame under glass. Overall in excellent condition, with a touch of rubbing to the gilt edge of the frame only. Painting is 19cm x 14cm. The frame is 27cm x 22cm.

He travelled to the Congo several times, sponsored by Sabena airlines. He was a diverse artist, and often designed posters and painted water-colours on the subject of the Congo. 7 sheets. Ces 7 planches ont toutes pour thème l'abattage et la transformation des arbres en bois au Congo. Chacune est numérotée au crayon sous la signature imprimée de l'artiste. Images de haute qualité. Elles sont collées sur du papier épais et vergé. Le titre de chaque œuvre est imprimé dans le coin. Il y a un léger assombrissement sur les bords de la page seulement. Les 7 tirages sont conservés dans une chemise/un portefeuille en carton rigide, qui contient les détails de la publication et indique que l'ensemble est limité à 50 exemplaires. La chemise est un peu assombrie, présente quelques marques et usures sur les bords, ainsi qu'une déchirure réparée sur le bord supérieur. Jacques Hanot (connu sous le nom de Jacano) était un artiste belge, né à Bruxelles en 1923. Il s'est rendu plusieurs fois au Congo, sponsorisé par la compagnie aérienne Sabena. Upon his death in 2015, the Royal Society's obituary said they considered this book - its centennial history - to be "an outstanding achievement for the Society".
