London: Constable & co ltd. Scarce. New and enlarged edition of this classic, printed in 1933 with a gift inscription / signature by Craddock to the colophon dated May 18th 1934. No dust wrapper. The hardback boards are bright orange with black titles. Still in bright, clean condition with just a touch of marking. Endpapers show a devil mask and high class revellers. Internally, in good condition with amusing colour illustrations by Gilbert Rumbold. 204 pages. 190 x 125 mm (7½ x 5 inches)

Bound in Japanese style in textured Haruku paper covers, tied with yellow thread. 14 lovely original wood engravings printed on Sekishu Shi paper, with accompanying poetry in Dutch on yellow Kyoto paper. The woodcuts and poems are all depictions of mythical creatures; from mermaid to giant, and minotaur to chimera. Limited, numbered and signed by Rueter to the colophon. This is # 61 of 100. 220 x 155 mm (8¾ x 6 inches). The Haruka covers are foxed and delicate to edges. The thread holding the pages together is loose at the top. Inside there is minimal foxing, and then confined to page edges. The second publication by the Gaillarde Pers.

London: Constable & Co, 1973. A very nice copy of this reprint, signed by the author to the front free end paper. Burgundy boards. Book is in immaculate condition. Dust wrapper is clean and tidy, with a little rubbing to the edges of the spine. The dust wrapper of this book was the author's favourite wrapper, and he took great delight in showing me how the picture changed when you turned the book upside down. 356 pages. 210 x 140 mm (8¼x 5½ inches).
