American citizen, the owner of this collection, Mr. Benzon, ran the house of Naylor, Benzon & Cie in London. He died two years before his library went on sale. Many of the books he purchased were from the Henry Bordes collection, who wrote catalogue entries for much of this sale (signified by his initials after the entry). The sale comprised 400 items, and against each, is the price achieved (in pencil)
Red half calf with gilt titles. Brown marbled boards. A little rubbing and dulling to the spine and edges, with a touch of loss to the corners of the boards. Internally in very good condition, with a little darkening and a few scattered marks only. viii, 104. pp. 245 x 170 mm.
