Text entirely in Latin. Soft grey paper covers. Pages largely uncut. A very nice copy of these two books. The pale grey paper covers are slightly darkened, and have light foxing spots, but overall in clean and tidy shape. Internally clean throughout. These books were a gift to the Bridgettine House of Syon Abbey from the Rev. Benedict Williamson, a Roman Catholic priest who was a keen supporter of the Bridgettine order and the author of a history of the order. There is a presentation inscription to the front of each volume.

London: Thomas McLean. First edition lithograph, published January 16th 1832. Image is 28.5 x 39.5 cm. Laid onto brown card (35 x 50 cm). To verso is a blank mount of the same size. Clean tidy print, with slight untidiness to cut edge (outside the black ruled frame). Fractional browning to edges. Mount is clean and neat. Issued as number 174, in a series entitled: Political sketches - Issued in 5 volumes. (Daniel O'Connell; Charles Grey, 2nd Earl Grey) Description is: Lord Grey is endeavouring to allure Mr. O'Connell by the offer of a place. The inscription of Courier on his rod, intimates that the offer was made in a paragraph, put out by way of a feeler, in the evening newspaper bearing that title. Paris: Imprimerie Des Annales - P. Vinsonau, 1900. First edition. A complete set of the 14 issues of this illustrated publication. A newspaper printed in the style of each historical epoch it pretends to be from. Printed on various luxury papers of various colour, which debuted on the occasion of the reconstruction of Old Paris along the Seine for the Universal Exhibition of 1900, old-style calligraphy, raised initials and vignettes, many authors including Pierre Loti and Anatole France, numerous illustrations on wood. Issue two was entirely illustrated by Robida. 1: Gallo-Roman; 2: Merovingian; 3: Carolingian; 4: Saint-Louis; 5: 14th century Tour de Nesle; 6: The Middle Ages in the form of illuminated manuscripts; 7: Rabelais François 1e; 8: Henry IV; 9: Théophraste Renaudot; 10: Molière; 11: The Regency period; 12: Marie-Antoinette; 13: L'Ami du peuple; 14: Bonaparte. The hessian covers are darkened and a little rubbed. There is gilt titles and a red seal with the crest of Paris on it. The remnants of leather ties. Still attractive though. The individual issues are in good, clean condition, with just a touch of edgewear to a couple of the sheets. 31cm x 23cm.

Elles restent néanmoins attrayantes. Les numéros individuels sont en bon état, propres, avec juste un peu d'usure sur les bords de quelques feuilles. 31cm x 23cm.

Berlin: Verlag Haus am Checkpoint Charlie. Original exhibition poster from the 1980s. This poster is mostly black with white text, and advertises a permanent exhibition 'Geteilte Interpretationen Maler sehen die Mauer' - the translation in English is roughly "Shared interpretations. Painters see the wall". Includes five examples of art pieces from the exhibition. In excellent condition. Under glass and in a black frame. 510 x 410 mm (20 x 16¼ inches). Can be sold with or without frame.

The Mauermuseum – Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie was founded immediately after the wall that divided Berlin was built and the museum opened its doors in October 1962. It's location was chosen "To be as close as possible to injustice, that's where human greatness unfolds most." according to the museum's founder, Dr. Rainer Hildebrandt. The museum can still be found in Friedrichstrasse in Berlin.

Very clean inside. 82 pages. 220 x 140 mm (8¾ x 5½ inches). Comes with loosely inserted 6 page pamphlet entitled: Honoring The Memory of Harvey S. Firestone from the Thirty-First Annual Dinner of The Akron Chamber of Commerce, at Mayflower Hotel on December 20, 1938.

Frontis engraving of George III. A further eleven engraved plates across the two volumes. The frontis of Volume 2 is an attractive map of Great Britain by Tardieu. This in very good condition. Internally clean, with a touch of foxing and darkening. An attractive copy of this set. Text in French. viii, 436, 420 pp. 170 x 100 mm (6¾ x 4 inches). Deux tomes. Première édition. Plein cuir. Titres dorés sur les tranches et le dos. Un peu de frottement à la colonne vertébrale avec un peu de décoloration. Demi-titre. Gravure Frontis de George III. Onze autres planches gravées sur les deux volumes. Le frontis du tome 2 est une jolie carte de la Grande-Bretagne de Tardieu. Celui-ci en très bon état.
