OMK blind stamped and hand numbered in pencil to front. Has official CNPD red stamp on verso. With 4 binding holes in the left hand margin. Dimensions: 35,8 cm x 30.5cm. Excellent condition. Currently protected in archival film. James (Jimmy) Cauty, was formerly a musician with the band 'The Orb', and was a member of 'KLF'. More recently, he has been an artist, creating works of dissent, and working alongside artists such as Banksy and Billy Childish. He has been involved in Steve Lowe's L-13 Light Industrial workshop. He created the gift shop at Banksy's 'Dismaland'. His work also toured as part of the ADP (Aftermath Dislocation Principle) Riot Tour.

London: 1816. Scarce satirical hand coloured etching. A close-up view of the Prince Regent standing with his back to the viewer. According to The British Museum, this is based on No. 9846 by Gillray, with The Regent's Bomb / Cadiz Memorial in the background. The image is mainly focussed on the George IV's large, rounded posterior! His curled and powdered wig, calves and arms are all also exaggerated. His garter is inscribed 'Honi soit' - this is an abbreviation of the Anglo-Norman phrase Honi soit qui mal y pense, or shame on he who thinks evil of it. This is the motto of the Order of the Garter. The engraving is clean and bright, with just residue of sticky tape to four corners of otherwise blank verso. Nice, Georgian humorous piece. 255 x 180 mm (10 x 7 inches).

In the mid 19th century, Bilbille went from Paris to Leipzig fair, via the fabric producing towns of Mulhouse and Saint-Gall, buying and selling fabric samples. This original hand embellished advertising poster has been created to promote an industrial collaboration. It shows a fashionable female of the time in a dress which has been highlighted in places with a lighter colour. She is holding an umbrella or parasol. We have not been able to find anything else like this online or in auction records. Could it be it was a one-off? In frame, under glass. Size of image: 595 x 470 mm (23½ x 18½ inches).

1964. Wood engraving by Paul Koch (born 1927). Signed lower right in the plate. Proof on BFK Rives woven paper, numbered 41 from an edition of 200 and signed in pencil by the artist. Nice clean example with just a touch of handing, and a couple of tiny spots to the top right edge. Nice example of a modern Momento Mori. Images 22cm x 15cm. Sheet 27.5cm x 38cm.

Signed and numbered by Gueuell to the bottom of the print. Total limitation of 200. Very good, clean condition, with very slight darkening to the page only. Aquatint is 18,75cm x 11.5cm. Sheet is 25cm x 16cm.

1929. Gorgeous oval shaped drypoint etching with aquatint, and small detail / colouring by hand. The work is unsigned - but most likely by Jean Gilles. This is a fantastic example of the Années folles (France in the 1920s) passion for what was known as 'Boudoir Art'. Gilles worked in the style of Louis Icart or Jean Hardy. Under white cardboard mount. Perfect for framing. The etching and the mount are both in a very good condition, with just a small spot or two (covered by mount). Whole item including card mount 600 x 400 mm (23½ x 15¾ inches). Image 370 x 195 mm. Superbe gravure à la pointe sèche de forme ovale avec aquatinte, et petit détail / coloration à la main. L'oeuvre n'est pas signée - mais très probablement de Jean Gilles. C'est un exemple fantastique de la passion des Années folles pour ce qu'on appelait «l'art boudoir». Gilles a travaillé dans le style de Louis Icart ou de Jean Hardy. Sous passe-partout en carton blanc. Parfait pour l'encadrement. Paris: Léotaud, publisher, quai Saint-Michel, 11, 1848. Lithograph of the dramatic death of the Général de Bréa and his Aide de Camp Mangin at the hands of insurgents from the Fontainebleau barrier. The murders took place at the Maison-Blanche guard house in Paris, during the June Rebellion. An important part of the French Revolution of 1848. This is a clean and tidy copy, with an overall slight darkening. Very nice copy. A very similar engraving, based on this one, was used in "Journées illustrées de la Révolution de 1848". Published Paris: Aux bureaux de l'Illustration, 255 x 340 mm (10 x 13½ inches)

Les meurtres ont eu lieu au corps de garde de Maison-Blanche à Paris, pendant la rébellion de juin. Une partie importante de la Révolution française de 1848. Exemplaire propre et soigné, avec un léger assombrissement général. Très bel exemplaire. London: G. Baxter, 1853. Two framed prints of famous images. One is entitled: "Australia. News from Home". This first depicting a group of men inside a wooden building in Australia. Two of whom appear indigenous. The other entitled: "News from Abroad". This showing a family gathered around for the reading of a letter, whilst on the wall there is a poster promoting emigration to Australia. Both from paintings by Harden Sidney Melville, and engraved, printed and published by G. Baxter. They are cropped, so no longer have the Baxter stamp at the bottom. Tipped on to card and mounted in wooden frames under glass. Each measures: 110 mm x 150 mm. Total size including frame: 260 mm x 290 mm. They have a label to the rear which says they were framed by The Petersfield Book Shop. In very good condition. (Price is for the pair).

Paris: Rüe de la Harpe vis a vis le Soleil d'Or, 1737. Original etching. Depicts a follower of Bacchus in the centre, on the left a man with a thyrsus standing in a giant cup and drinking from a conch shell; and on the right a statue of Pan on a plinth. Etching is annotated in the lower left Bouchardon del. Under gold edged duck egg blue passe-partout. Has a small area of green (paint?) to bottom left. Otherwise very good. Actual image size: 210 x 145 mm (8¼ x 5¾ inches). Gravure originale. Représente un disciple de Bacchus au centre, à gauche un homme avec un thyrse debout dans une coupe géante et buvant dans une conque ; et à droite une statue de Pan sur un socle. L'eau-forte est annotée en bas à gauche Bouchardon del. Sous passe-partout bleu canard bordé d'or. A une petite zone de vert (peinture?) En bas à gauche. Sinon très bien. Taille réelle de l'image : 210 x 145 mm (8¼ x 5¾ pouces).

London: R. Ackermann's Repository, 1808. Plate number 9 from Ackermann's "Microcosm of London". A lovely aquatint. First edition. Plate is 24cm x 29 cm. Mount size is 32.5cm by 38cm (12¾ by 15 inches). The architectural details were drawn by Pugin, and Rowlandson drew the figures (both are credited on the sheet). The aquatinting was done by J. Bluck. Very nice clean impression of this plate, with good colouring. A very small closed foxing spot to the bottom edge of the plate. Ackermann produced this work between 1807 and 1810. One of the greatest of the colour plate books. "The plates by Rowlandson and Pugin present an unrivaled picture of London in early 19th century, of historic value, as many of the buildings no longer exist." (Tooley)

N/A, 1911. Etching of a scene showing people gathering to haggle or trade. The etching is unsigned, and appears to be a scarce work. Undated but circa 1911. Under cream Passepartout Engraving sized 23 cm x 29.5cm. Passepartout is sized 385 by 430mm (15¼ by 17 inches). Print is in very good, clean condition. Passepartout has a small mark to one side, and is slightly darkened. The artists name has been written to base (and misspelt Brangwin). Sir Frank William Brangwyn (1867 - 1956) was an Anglo-Welsh painter, engraver and illustrator. Although born in Belgium, his family returned to Wales in 1875 where he received his artistic education, first with his father and then with renowned artist William Morris. Brangwyn's relationship with one of his admirers and supporters, the Belgian poet Emile Verhaeren, led to his being commissioned to create multiple illustrations for Verhaeren's poetry book, Les Villes Tentaculaires

. Gravure d'une scène montrant des personnes se réunissant pour marchander ou faire du commerce. L'eau-forte n'est pas signée et semble être une œuvre rare. Non datée mais vers 1911. Gravure Passepartout sous la crème de 23 cm x 29,5 cm. Passepartout mesure 385 x 430 mm (15¼ x 17 pouces). La gravure est en très bon état. Passepartout a une petite marque sur un côté et est légèrement assombri. Le nom de l'artiste a été écrit à la base (et mal orthographié Brangwin). Sir Frank William Brangwyn (1867 - 1956) était un peintre, graveur et illustrateur anglo-gallois. Bien que né en Belgique, sa famille est retournée au Pays de Galles en 1875 où il a reçu son éducation artistique, d'abord avec son père, puis avec le célèbre artiste William Morris. La relation de Brangwyn avec l'un de ses admirateurs et partisans, le poète belge Emile Verhaeren, lui vaut d'être chargé de créer de nombreuses illustrations pour le recueil de poèmes de Verhaeren, Les Villes Tentaculaires.

Valencia: Hija de E. Mirabet, 1928. An anonymous colour lithographic poster, mounted on linen. "Chang and Fak-Hong's United Magicians presents The Bhuda". 63.5 x 44 cm. Chang and Fak Hong were a popular illusionist duo of the 1920s and 1930s, renowned throughout Europe and the United States. Very good condition. A few foxing spots to the white and cream edges. Slight fraying to the undressed linen edge. Overall very attractive. Affiche lithographique couleur anonyme, marouflée sur toile de lin. "Les magiciens unis de Chang et Fak-Hong présentent le Bhuda". 63,5 x 44 cm. Chang et Fak Hong étaient un duo illusionniste populaire des années 1920 et 1930, renommé dans toute l'Europe et les États-Unis. Très bonne condition. Quelques rousseurs sur les bords blanc et crème. Légère effilochage au bord du lin dévêtu. Globalement très attractif.

London: F.G. Moon, 1842. A lovely copy of this tinted lithograph, produced by the skilled lithographer Louis Haghe and published by F.G. Moon. The publisher's details are printed in the plate, and state that it was printed 1st December 1842. Framed in a more recent dark green passe partout and dark hardwood frame. The visible area of the lithograph is 540 x 380 mm (21¼ by 15 inches). It will be slightly larger under the passe partout - the sheet size is 23 5/8" x 17 1/4". Frame size is 720 x 560 mm (28¼ x 22 inches). If sold online will be sold without frame. David Roberts, (1796-1864) was a successful Scottish artist, in 1838 traveled throughout the Middle East and produced many paintings. On his return to England, he and lithographer Louis Haghe published a hand-coloured six volume set of his works covering Egypt and Nubia and the Holy Land.
