To deal with the problem groups of Jewish East Enders established three charities that later merged and became 'Nightingale'. Marcus Roberts is a researcher in to Anglo-Jewish history, and has been widely published. 112 pp. 250 x 180 mm (9¾ x 7 inches).

In this work, Mouni Sadhu (pen name of Polish writer Mieczyslaw Demetriusz Sudowski) offers the reader an encyclopaedic exploration of the Western esoteric tradition and magical philosophy with the major arcana of the Tarot as the guide. Blue cloth of book is somewhat faded at the spine ends, and dust jacket has some cracks, and small areas of loss. Now in clear protective wrap. There is a touch of darkening to the orange cloth, and a small stain to the bottom of the rear board. Mainly clean and tidy though. Owner's bookplate to the inside front board. Internally clean and tidy, with just a little darkening to the page edges. Jewish author and political activist, Israel Zangwill (1864 - 1926), was passionate about campaigning for the oppressed. He was best known for his work "Children of the Ghetto." Initial ad. leaf, half title, 32pp + ads.
