William Warwick James OBE was one of the foremost dental surgeons of his time; and a pioneer in maxillofacial surgery. Benjamin William Fickling CBE was a dentist and doctor who played a major part in the development of oral and maxillofacial surgery as a specialised discipline. A seminal work by these two specialists.

It's assumed that the Mrs Wiltz W. Wagner is Helen Bell Wagner, wife of Wiltz Walker Wagner Snr, a New Orleans native. At the end of World War II, Mr. Wagner served as New Orleans chairman of the 'Food for Famine Drive' for war-torn countries. Wiltz Walker Wagner Jr. Ph.D. (one of their sons) is Professor Emeritus

A little handled and creased to covers. Back cover has a small closed tear. 36 pages. 320 x 240 mm (12½ x 9½ inches).

F.I.J.L - The Iberian Federation of Libertarian Youth in English, was an anarchist youth organisation created in Madrid in 1932 during the Second Spanish Republic. Inquietudes was first published in 1947 in exile in France. This anarchist newspaper / magazine covered a wide range of topics, especially cultural ones, and each issue had a circulation of 2,000 copies, being distributed throughout exile and in the interior of the Iberian Peninsula. This is the third issue.

Primera edición. Periódico/revista anarquista original. Impreso en b/n con llamativas ilustraciones en rojo en las cubiertas. Un poco manipulado y arrugado en las cubiertas. La contraportada tiene un pequeño desgarro cerrado. 34 páginas. 320 x 240 mm.

La F.I.J.L fue una organización juvenil anarquista creada en Madrid en 1932 durante la Segunda República Española. Inquietudes se publicó por primera vez en 1947 en el exilio en Francia. Este diario/revista anarquista cubría una amplia gama de temas, especialmente culturales, y cada número tenía una tirada de 2.000 ejemplares, siendo distribuidos por todo el exilio y el interior de la Península Ibérica. Este es el tercer tema.

Attractive engraved allegorical title. Contemporary inscription to title showing ownership of Nicolas Sartonio of Miltenberg. Clasps are missing, vellum is browned and stained, slightly rubbed but still presentable. Paper darkened in line with age, otherwise still in very good condition. First Latin edition of this polemic, originally published in French in 1610 under the title "Institution catholique". The author Pierre Coton (1564 - 1626) was a French Jesuit, friend and confessor of the French King Henry IV and his son, who later became King Louis XIII. After the assassination of Henry IV in 1610, Coton was often the victim of polemics and attacks, who blamed the regicide on the Jesuits. His name went down in history in the form of a quip: "The king has cotton in his ears!" Having become, thanks to the protection of Marie de Medici, the confessor of the young Louis XIII, he remained influential until his disgrace, linked to the coup de force of the young king against the Concini in 1617.

Première édition latine de cette polémique, originellement publiée en français en 1610 sous le titre

Big Sur: undated circa 1947. First edition. A well designed promotional pamphlet that Miller sent to booksellers and other literary types to promote his 1947 work, "Into the Night Life." Signed by Miller himself, on 18th July 1955. Words by both Miller and the book's Palestinian illustrator, Bezalel Shatz. Comments from, among others: Beniamino Bufano, Man Ray, Will Rogers, Herbert Read and Anais Nin. Plain covers. Some fading. Internally clean and tidy. Book has obviously been creased at some point but is all in a very good condition.

"Into the Night Life" took almost two years to produce. Only 800 copies were produced, and each one was signed and numbered. This pamphlet was designed to promote the book, by giving insight in to how it was made, what it is about, together with a few testimonials from individuals deemed qualified to appraise its merits. 280 x 220 mm (11 x 8¾ inches).

Cloth decorated with gilt detail, titles and decoration. Front design (an armourial crest) is also coloured in red and blue. Good condition, with just a little handing and fading to the boards. No significant damage. Yellow end papers. Pages a clean, with a little foxing / darkening only. Overall a very nice example. All edges gilt. Tissue guards over the full page engravings. Louis Reybaud (1799-1879), a French economist, journalist, man of letters and politician. This work is a satirical novel, "One of the best productions of Grandville" (Carteret). Liège: Imp. Bénard S.A, 1930. A paper game of 63 numbered squares, spiral, anti-clockwise, centripetal, advertising margarine produced by the company 'Solo' founded in 1929 in Belgium. French version. On the left the rules of the game. In the centre the inscription: 'To the fruits of our colony'. There are quite a few nicks and closed tears to the edges, most are now repaired with archival tape. A touch of darkening to the paper. Jeu de L'oie or Het Gasspel, a kind of goose game, but a colourful piece of Belgian advertising for Sola Margarine. Circa 1930. 460 by 640mm (18 by 25¼ inches). The Game of the Goose or Jeu de l'oie is a type of board game where two or more players move pieces around a track by rolling a die or two dice. The aim of the game is to reach square number sixty-three before any of the other players, while avoiding obstacles. Large colour printed sheet, has a little light creasing, blank to verso.
